Transport on the S.S. Conte Rosso

by Shane Stephenson

Just completed a collection of tickets, passports, and other documents relating to a client's grandfather, grandmother and mother coming over to America from Naples, Italy. His grandfather came over first in 1919 and his grandmother and mother followed in 1925. I was asked to digitize all of the documents - 44 in all - and then I took them and put them in a protective binder with the descriptives adhered to each sleeve.

This was a great project, not only because I helped a family migrate their important family documents, but it helped me with my Italian too. Most of the documents were written in Italian, and I completed some minor translation for the project. Now, he can transfer the 44 documents to other flash drives and offer them to family members!
